on hearin the death of chris benoit under what can only be unknowen and certainly tragic circumstances want to raise a discussion with the wrestling fans on here. The way in which the WWE has treated this event is a joke, they have practically shunned him when this is possibly the industry that has lead to what happened. it is believed it was due to anabolic steriod use and the reactions to it, however the WWE clam to be against steriods and for these effects to occur it takes months so how can they have been testin correctly? As many people know chris benoit was a christian and it just seems so out of character to anyone who knew him, i think that it is a disgrace the way in which the WWE are treatin it, as vince mcmahon said "circumstances are know fully known" last night on ECW therefore no mention of Mr benoit will be made....... i think that this whole this could have been prevented if they had of investicated into how EDDIE!! died, obviously they are linked or have something to do with each other, i pass on prayers for family and friends for this event and think that chris benoit is a living legend.......what happened should be pittied upon not shunned!

Vince could be i big time trouble over this. He's still smarting from a court case brought against the WWe regarding steroids and has in the recent years taken a hard line on drug related offences, unless you're names Randy Orton that is. Basically part of they're 'punishment' was that they have a drug programme set up tht would screen for drugs but also help those who needed it. What this led to was the mystery disappearing of popular wreslters with no explaination given. re Brian Christopher, Road Dogg, and others. It does seem that their programme let Chris Benoit slip the net. However the guy was clearly not in Vinces plans. ECW is the embarassement or development slot in WWE not a good place for a veteran and quite possibly one of the best ever to be. He had to be hurting and if his was hurting so much that he would do this then why didn;t the WWE see it.
This really is a sad thing that happened,

Actually putting a vet on ECW is exactly what it needed. The plan was for him to win the title and hold it for a long while. The long term plan for ECW is to build up new talent into the next generation of stars. Someone with Benoit's experience was what was needed. As it was, what was he doing on Smackdown? Jobbing to MVP. Wow what a use of talent. At least with him moving to ECW he would have been getting main event slots with the three brand PPVs they're going for now. CM Punk vs. Benoit feud would have been awesome. Think about where Benoit came from being a "Vanila Midget", who better to put over the next generation than someone who knows how damaging being held down can be.
As for how its been handled, yeah wiping out his memory isn't going to help but i think the worry is that accusations of cashing in on the event would have been thrown about (as was the case with Eddie) so it was a knee jerk reaction. AS for the ECW comment that was due to the tribute show coming out before they had heard the news about him having killed his wife and kid. They recieved a good deal of flack about doing a tribute show for someone who was a murderer. The ECW statement was meant as a recognition of the tragedy but not to add to the speculation. Its still a pretty hot topic over there and things won't be sorted till the toxicology report. The WWE wellness programme is a joke and not a funny one! Certain superstars will always have their place (see Randy Orton, or the man who puts his own brand of chocolate Mr. Whippy in diva's kit bags!) and no matter what they're taking will change that. This hopefuly will shake things up a good bit and if thats the only positive to come out of all this well at least its something. As for Eddie's death it was the result of a body that been abusing drugs for his whole life finally catching up on him. A desperate shame.
